About Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune is one of the most iconic television game shows in the world, broadcast in the United States since 1975 and adapted across dozens of countries. Players take turns spinning a wheel for point values, then guess consonants in a hidden phrase. Correct consonants are revealed across the board and score per occurrence; vowels must be purchased for 250 points; and any player who believes they know the full phrase may attempt to solve at any time. The Bankrupt and Lose-a-Turn segments add dramatic swings that can end a commanding lead in an instant. How to Play on GameNight.pro

Enter 2–4 player names and press Begin Game. On your turn, click the wheel to spin. If the wheel lands on a point value, click any unguessed consonant — each occurrence in the puzzle earns that point value per letter. Click Buy Vowel to reveal a vowel at a cost of 250 points. Click Solve Puzzle to type your guess at the full phrase; a correct solve awards your round earnings and advances to the next puzzle. Bankrupt resets your entire accumulated score to zero; Lose a Turn ends your turn without any score penalty. Play passes to the next player after a wrong consonant, a miss, Bankrupt, or Lose a Turn. The game ends when all rounds are completed.

Strategy & Tips

Five proven Wheel of Fortune tactics for maximising your score and minimising risk:

• Open with high-frequency consonants: R, S, T, L, N, and D appear most often in English phrases. Guessing these early reveals the most letters per turn and is worth doing even on lower-value wheel segments.
• Delay vowel purchases: Buying vowels costs 250 points and reveals letters you may already deduce from context. Wait until the puzzle is substantially filled before spending — over-buying vowels is the most common way to bleed points.
• Use the category label aggressively: The puzzle category dramatically narrows the possible phrases. A "Person" category changes which letters are likely entirely; proper names use very different frequency tables than common phrases.
• Solve as soon as you're confident: Winning the puzzle is worth far more than guessing two extra consonants. If you're 90% sure of the answer, solve immediately rather than risking a Bankrupt on your next spin.
• Protect a big lead: Bankrupt wipes your entire score, not just the current round. Once you're well ahead, favour conservative plays — quick solves or deliberate low-risk spins — over aggressive high-wheel strategies.
